Jayadevan, D.D.S. WHITENING AT HOME A ~ .. ....l 511. ely Do 1 ' EarTraining u.l . t,U ne Staff Reading • 3 year Olc;Js: Musical Munchkins Those patients who wish to have whiter teeth can now do so in the: privacy of their own homes. Home bleaching is made possible by a plastic mouthpiece (tray). which the dentist contructs. and fits. The patient simply fills the tray with a bleaching agent (usually carbaminde ~oxide) and wears the teeth-whitening apparatus at least once a day for three to four hours. The mouth- pieces may also be worn throughout the night. Most patients who undergo the home-whitening treatment achieve their desired results in two to three weeks. At-home bleaching works best on patients whose teeth have experienced age-relat· ed darkening. Those patients who have teeth discolored by trauma or the use of the antibiotic tetracycline may require in-office treatments which combine stronger bleaching solutions with heat or light. · ~.eanm a.-.,... also atta1ded die meeting, replied tbat the report from the public WOiis deplnment details what it would take to tedoce tbe hills and said the task force would study that report.
