They were the poor est apology for a ball team that has ever appeared on any diamond that the writer knows of. After the local team choked the score board with more than twenty-five runs it was too tiresome to follow the slaughter. Umpire Frank Roberts was very patient and the only thing we can say was that the local team got a chance to do some practic ing. The Bellmore Club recejVps good support from the residents here and they turn out to see a good game of ball, not an imitation. Stronger teams as opponents are needed and even if the boys do score a failure now and then it will not be as bad as a bur lesque on the game we have had to re port in the cases of the colored players and the Saranacs. We stand by the local team in every way. They are good players and put up a strong game and we make this suggestion in the hope that they will give the village a better grade of ball than recently.
