Janet Anne Van Petten, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexan- der Van Petten of 51 Woodland avenue, was baptized July 12 at St. Agnes Cathedral, Miss Theresa Mc- Ginnis of Cambria Heights and Peter McGinnis of Levittown were the godparents. The baby was born June 27 at Terrace Heights Hospi- tal, Hollis. Miss Carole Dapp of Oceanside was crowned \Miss Song of Nor- way\ at the Jones Beach Marine Theatre by Leonard Ruskin, pro- ducer of \The Song of Norway.\ The 19-year-old Adelphi College student will receive a two week trip to Norway. Mr .and Mrs. Frank De Bevoise of 19 Ormond street have returned from a three weeks visit to their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul De Bevoise of Falmouth, Me. They also visited Rangely Lake and Loon Lake, Me. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Straub and their two sons have moved from Freeport to 121 Powell avenue. Mrs. Cramer L. Harrington of West Endicott, N.Y., was hostess at her home at a kitchen pre-nuptial shower for Miss Barbara Blessing of Ardsley place. The bride-elect and Cramer L. Harrington will be married August 22 at St. Agnes Cathedral. Mr. and Mrs. John Powers Madi- gan of Roxen road are home from a tour of Europe. Eschmann Are Engaged The engagement of Miss Elinore Frances Phelan, a teacher, to Thomas Andrew Eschmann has been announced by her mother, Mrs. Timothy Phelan of Garden City. The future bride, also daughter of the late Tnmothy Phelan, is an alumna 'of St. Agnes Cathedral High School and Seton Hill College. She is on the faculty of 'the Floral Park public schools. Her fiance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Eschmann also of Garden City, is serving with the Army in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He was graduated from Chaminade High School and Villanova University. gan has just qualified in a 72 hole tournament for a berth on a six man Air Force golf team about to enter competition in southern Ger- many.
