Tobiaaon on S a t urday last, in honor of their daugh ter, Gertrude’s birthday. A number of piano solos and also a number of vocal solos were rendered, after which a most delicious lunch was served. Those present were: Miss Gertrude Tobiason, Miss Austin Tobiason, Miss Alma Schcenman, Miss Helen Alvin, Mias Bertha Wilier, Miss Mary Southard, Miss M auretta Ketcham, Mrs. Charles Mills, Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. Tobiaaon, Mr- an<l Mrs. Alvin, E r- ling Tobiason, Rolfe Tobiason, and Mrs. Louis Ketcham. Merle Post spent last Sunday with his mother in Seaford. The Guild of St. Michael and All Angels* Church met a t the home of Mrs. I. L'Hommedieu on Thursday afternoon. John H. Wanser has been ill for some tim e past and is under the care of Dr. Holcomb. , Announcement has been made of the marriage of Rev. Paul Morrison and Miss Mabel Cornell of Schenec tady, N. Y. The Cabinet of the F.pworth I/eague will have charge of the morning ser vice Sunday, April 21. Miss Bertha Rich of Freeport will lead the de votional meeting Sunday evening at 7.30. Miss Phebe Powers of Bald- won will address the meeting, as will John D. Knaack of Brooklyn. A miscellaneous shower w a s given to Miss M auretta Ketcham by her many friends on Monday evening, April 15th, in the Guild House. It was a complete surprise. Many beau tiful and useful presents were re ceived. The decorations were in yel low and white and the gifta were showered from a pretty yellow and white umbrella. Refreshments were enjoyed. Miss Ketcham is to be mar ried to Edward R. Mills of Norfolk, Va., some time in May. The young counle has the best wishes of a host of friends. The aervicea in the Episcopal Church for Sunday, A p ril 21st, are: Sunday School at 3.16 p.m., and even ing service at 4.16 o'clock. There ia a Thursday evening service at eight o’clock. The storm that we had last week caused considerable damage at High Hill Beach and a number of the cot tages were washed off the hills on which they Stood. Mrs, Collonel seems to have had considerable trou ble with her cottages located at the beach, for the latter part of last year one of them burned completely SMITHVILLE SOUTH LUTHERAN CHURCH Pastor, Rev. William Steinbicker. Bible School meets at 2.30 and ser vice at 4 p.m. Choir rehearsal on Thursday evening. The monthly meeting of the Parish Aid Society will be held Thursday af ternoon, Apirl 25, at 2.30 p.m. Study topics, “Missionary Activities in the Sixteenth Century.’’ Everyone is wel come to all services and meetings. WANTAGH The Good Cheer Club met with Miss Anna Grimm on Tuesday evening.
