T h e first to appropriate the sum of $15,000 for the construu- tiou of two additional class room s and an assem b ly room, and the second 'o expend the sum of $2,000 to remodel the basem e n t of the present school building into an auditorium . The S tate Board of Education lias given its consent on stipulation that ii m u st not bn used for class rooms. The board decided lo hold a special election on Tuesday evening, July 2X. and subm it the tw o propositions :o the taxpayers of the district. T h e school im p rovem e n t assoeialion which is com p o sed largely of m o thers has been active in school m a tters in the district, its m e m b e rs are to pass the first proposition which they cleam is the m o st practical and econom ical as the additional class room s are ad m ittedly necessary. Many of the room s contain two grades. The conservative elem e n t will in all probability oppose the first propo sition and urge the passing of the second and altern a te one. A n o ther el em e n t claim s the necessary im p rove m e n ts cart be m ade out of the budget. In one of the Urns of the budget the sum of $800 is put aside for the rep a ir ing of the heating plant which is thought to be excessive, in an inter view with one of the largest taxpaj ers of the district today lie said: ’’1 think it unwise to expend a large am o u n t on the present building as it is only a question of a very short tim e when the present fram e structure will be condem n ed by th S tate Board of E d u c a tion and a brick one in its place. Sacred Concert at Seaford Church Julian Jordan, the well known com poser and singer assisted by a soprano and local talent, gave a sacred musi cal concert a t the Seaford M ethodist Episcopal Church on W ednesday even lug, before a large audience.
