ICK SCHOOL I SAME TEACHERS *«cA«i Fn> Neighbor*'— Oee Less Popfl Than Last Year E — Eatertsinment Oct. 14 | ---------- School opened this year with the same corps of teachers as last year. This is an unusual condition and the good effects are marked. No time is lost by the teacher adjusting herself to new conditions. The school has been presented a fine croquet set by Raymond Arden. Mr. Arden is a man who believes in mak ing play a part of the child’s educa tion, nqt only from a commercial standpoint, but from the practical Standpoint as well. The croauet court is a scene of merriment often as late as 6:00 o’clock. Martin Wright is another man who believes in the joys of childhood. Mr. Wright has twice donated material for repairing damages done by the wind to the basketball stops. Again this year the general work done by the pupils during the past year was exhibited at the Mineola Fair. Mr. Pollard, County Junior Project Extension leader, called at the school last week. He announced that Cath erine Wines, one of the Junior Project Workers from this school, exhibited two pens of chickens, one of White Leghorns, the other of white rocks, at the Mineola Fair. Catherine took first prize on each pen of chickens. . Principal and Mrs. Hyle of Bellmore, Principal and Mrs. Johnson of Ocean- side have called on Principal and Mrs. Powell,, School Registration Net registration of the school to date is 126 pupils. This number is one less than one year ago. When it id remembered that twenty-one were graduated, it is evident that there is an increase of twenty pupils over one year ago. The first room registered forty-seven pupils, with thirty-nine seats and the third room has but one vacant seat. The fourth room regis ters eighteen pupils, this is one more than one year ago..
