\ ■ \ r' ENGINEER REPORTS ONROAD CONDITION Urges Repair ef Merrick Road aed Grove Street WHJiin Freeport Village Limits A large amount of money will have to be expended for the improvement, repair and maintenance of county roads during the coming year. While the amount is not as yet known, the number of roads listed that need im provement and repairs, in a prelimin ary report submitted by County En gineer W. Fred Starks to the Board of Supervisors indicates that the sum will be large. The Board will act in the matter later, when the budget is made up. The roads on the list submitted by the superintendent in the Town of Hempstead for permanent repairs are: Merrick road. Grove street, Free port; Grand avenue, Hempstead; Stewart avenue, Garden City; Nassau boulevard. Village avenue, Rockville i Centre; Hempstead avenue, Lynbrook; Franklin square road, Franklin ave nue from Mineola to Hempstead; Lin coln avenue, Rockville Centre, Long Beach road, North Village aventie, Rockville Centre; DeMott avenue, Mer rick road. Freeport to Baldwin; Mer rick road, Lynbrook. to Baldwin: Rockaway avenue, Garden City and Atlantic avenue, Lynbrook. North Hempstead roads listed for permanent repairs are: Mineola boul evard and extension; Cutter Mill road. Great Neck; East Williston road; Al bertson road; Middle Neck road, Port Washington; Bayview avenue, Great Neck; l. U. Willets road, Glen Cove road. Old Court House road, North Hempstead turnpike (Manhasset Hill), and Post avenue, Westburv. The Board on Monday placed in the county road system the road running from Wreck Lead into the village of Long Beach and then east through the Hempstead town park.
