■ 8 NASSAU ASSOCIATE TOUR GUIDE READY Tl» 1920 Edition Has Map* and Schednles for Ante Vacation- Hs in Eastern U. S. The Automobile Club of America announces that the*1920 edition of the Associated Tours Guide, which has be come so popular with motorists thru- out the country in past years, is now ready for distribution. Thousands of motorists each year plan to take their vacation by motor ing with their families to some prom inent resort. Some like the country and mountains, others, the seashore, and, with this in view, the Bureau of Tours of The Automobile Club of America has compiled the Associated Tours Guide for the benefit of motor ists in general. The 1020 edition of the Associated Tours Guide displays the same pro gressive improvement, both as to quality and quantity, of road maps and information and in attractive com position and design, that has been re marked each year since the Guide was first published by The Automobile Club of America. v The tours shown in the 1920 Associ ated Tours Guide covers the entire eastern section of the United States and Southern Canada, extending as far west as Chicago and from Mon- TO NASSAU COUNTY City Families Moving Into the Coun try, Declares •’New Bra” Admonitions to go west and grow up with the country are now changed to go east and let your children .grow up out of the city. The urban'coun- ties of Long Island are the natural outlet for the overflow from New York—now tHe world's largest city. Nassau County being the first and nearest county is the big reason for the steady growth of the communities within its confines. Children provide one of the princi pal reasons for moving to Long Island but other reasons are equally import ant. City tax vs are a great propell ing factor in many cases. Transpor tation problems, congestion, the ever- changing character of all city neigh borhoods and unnatural surroundings all combine to bring people to Nassau County. Many developments in suburban territory on Long Island that were considered more or less as jokes but a few years ago are now fully grown up and meccas for homeseekers. What' has transpired during the past ten tweoty years will be doubled in per formance during the next deca4« or two. As the greater city spreads out the Vast acreage of Queens Borough is building U? ?s did that of the Bronx a dozen years ago. *' Although some of the developments in Queens are of a very high charac ter, such as Forest Hills and Kew Gardens, the tendency is toward two- family houses, apartments and dwell ings flattered bv the name of cottage bungalow. Nassau County must Captaral After All Night Hast by Officers—Had Shat Gaa la Her PossessioB Residents of Merrick were startled Thursday by the appearahce of a wo man who flourished a shot gun, and finally took refuge in a swamp. She was finally captured by Constable Jas. Molloy and Motorcycle Patrolman Bert Hope of Merrick and proved to be Mrs. Caroline Baxter, a widow, fifty- five years of age, living in Merrick. She had been wandering about all night and the officers were sent on the case following reports that a wild wo man was running loose in the village, threatening everyone she saw. She was traced for hours and finally corralled in a corner of the swamp. She threatened the officers with the gun when she was finally located and after Constable Molloy had gotten her in his automobile she struggled and tried to strangle him. Drs. H. M. Phipps and William H. Rhame of Freeport examined her and declared her insane. The tours have been rechecked this season by the chief roadman of the Automobile Club of America and the maps brought up- to-date by the Club's map drafting de partment. Motorists who have been using the Associated Tours Guide for several years past declare that it is the most comprehensive, clear and concise mot oring publication obtainable. Copies of the 1920 edition of the Associated Tours Guide may be ob tained by remitting the price, fifty cents, to the Bureau of Tours of The Automobile Club of America, 247 West 54th Street, New York City. When the bronchial passages are in a vigorous st&te of health they throw oft impurities that ordinarily discharge through the bronchial passages eas ily and quickly. Colds and coughs are of short duration. The bronchial tis sues are sensativc, firm and active. In the late influenza epidemic when the victim had weak bronchial reac tion to the poisons given the bronchial passages for discharge, the result was usually fatal. Among influenza patients who developed bronchial pneumonia, the percentage of deaths from ordinary treatment was six out of every ten. Healthful bronchial passages depend upon an undisturbed and full sup ply of nervous energy. There is no known power for throwing off disease and developing health which equals the inherent forces of the body. The cause of nerve interference, or nerve weakness, is displacement of joints of the backbone causing pressure upon the bronchial nerves. This pressure is removed by chiropractic spinal adjustments. AS WELL AS EVER “I had been suffering with bronchial trouble for some time and * could get no relief. I would spit blood at times. I doctored with four different physicians without results. I visited a chiropractor and noticed an improvement in a short time. I now feel as well as I ever did.”—Mrs. Hazel Painter.
