Therefore, we oppose only the sale of strong, alcoholic beverages, I containing more than ten per cent, of i alcohol, and do not oppose the sale of j light beers, wines or other beverages | containing no more than ten per cent, of alcohol.” While desiring to give full credit to the Hears! papers for the good they have done, the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union profoundly regrets that they go no further in their de nunciation of alcoholic drinks.
