The dealer thought they suspect ed that I wgs getting a commission on the vase and that they might be able to buy it cheaper if they were alone. He intended to show them that both he and I were honest men and that there was no collusion be tween us. Such is the attitude of a Chinese merchant toward his friend. Wenderful Stones. The tax article and the reapportionm ent provisions will be subm itted as separate gropo •itions, while the remainder or: the new organic law will be preserited to the voters as a single proposition. This means that the voters on Elec tion Day will have te vote altogether on six propoaitions—the three which make up the new Constitution and the three others th a t will be submitted in pursuance of Legislative enactment. A proposition to .permit the Con troller to chenge the rate of interest on bonds. Regarding Tax Sale Every day or two inquiries come to our office regarding the advertisem ent of a sale of property for unpaid taxes for Nassau Courtly. We have not yet received copy for such an advertise ment, and do not know when we will receive it, although it is the intention of the County Treasurer to bold such a •ale as soon as be can prepare the copy and get it in shape for printing.
