The removal of these buildings, at an early date, i? necessitated by the work of the contractors on the new 72- j inch pipe line from Clear Stream to Amityville, according to information gained at the Water Supply Depart ment. However, there is said to be a strong sentiment, on the part of Long Islanders, in favor of permitting the buildings to remain standing, wherev er they do not rest directly over the' pipe line route. JUST THINK Would you buy n house to-day that yon would haw to spend good money ou to-morrow ro make if look re spectable? It is not probable that you would, providing yon could buy another, that suited you just us well, for the same price plus the cost of repairs. That is Our Proposition in a Nutshell ' A frame building must be painted every three years to preserve the wood and make if look respectable. This will cost from one to three hundred dollars. Assuming that a man owns a home for thirty years, this cost will lie repeated 10 times. That means $1000 to $3000 spent for something that brings no material return. We have worked out a system of construction planned to meet the many objections to the cement block and ii is as far superior to it as gold is to silver. No more dead looking, water soaked walls. We have piisscsl that stage and are offering the prospective builder something that is dry, bright and attractive. The cost of this construction is but little more than frame and the saving in paint bills alone will give your children a snug little nest egg. Should you desire to sell, what an argument that would be.—No $200 paint bills every three years. We invite your inquiry and inspection and u.-surv you honest aud courteous treatment.
