J Feature Go At Playland | TRACEY LEWIS WINS | With a total of 137 out of 150 OSCAR SQUARE IN FREEPORT BOUT Colored Featherweight Battler Clashes With West Sider In Park Arena Tonight With Oscar Bernard, sensational eolored featherweight from Panama! and Joe Pasquale of the West Side booking up in the feature eight round bout of the evening, matchmaker Ed- die Buckley of the Freeport arena will present another of bis attractive neatly shows tonight at Playland park. A large turnout is expected, as the fans are stil talking over the hectic De Cruz-Goldstein affair, and the other fine bouts which supported it. Although the Arena: has been open for three weeks it has me one of the most popular rendervous of Nassau fight enthusiasts, and each succeeding week the marMgement funds it harder to accommodate the crowd. Great Battle In The Cards Bernard will be remembered as the lad who stopped the winning streak of Frankie Marchese two weeks ago, in the same ring, but he is meeting a real tough little customer in. Pas- le who has turned ih some great ights during his short but brilliant career, and the fans are in for a real treat when these two classy lit- tle youngsters square off. In the semi-final, Congo Kid, from far off Belgium Congo will show the fans just how they do it in his na- tive country when he tackles Harry Oberman -of the East Side over the - eight round distance. Oberman is looking to add the Kid to his long list of K. O. victims but may be dis- ' appointed as the Kid is in fine trim for the fray and Is known for his ability to take it on the chin and come back fighting. The \Kid's\ resemblance to the late \Battling\ Siki is most remarkable, his stance and style bring cack mem- ories of the times when. the dusky Senegalese heavyweight was in his prime and had the fans standing on the seats most of the time he was in the ring.. _.. - Dave Brown, Congo seems to be making quite a collection of colored stars, he also being the manager of Harry Smith, world's colored middleweight champion. and CWT Gardper the Harlem entry who been *packing them in at the port arena. It would be no surprise to fudge by the host of followers that the \Kid\ /J is the favorite at ring time, although Oberman has had far more experience and carries a deadly wallop iftelther {mm hatha mitt, Le Three sixes and-an opening four rounder will top off the card, with | many of the boylxhnbhskve shown in Freeport previously, ba again to- fj nant LONG ISLAND SHOOT .. gets To Take Title targets, Tracey H.
