JAXE-FKANCE'S CLEARY ; Mrs. Jane Frances Cleary, widow of. the late John . . YV. Cleary died yes- terday noon , after an illness of three days , at her home on Smithtown boul- evard , Lake Ponkonkoma. Mrs. Cleary \was horn i:n New York in 1862 , and had lived here far the past 40 years- . A requiem mass will he held Thurs- day at 10 st. m. at St. Joseph' s R. C- church , Lalc e Ronkonkoina , followed hy burial im St. Lawrence cemetery, Sayville. She leaves a brother , James Mooiir- ey, of Chicago ; a sister , Miss Agues Mooney of Brooklyn ; three sons , Jos- eph. L. Cleary of Merrick; John R. Cleary of Brooklyn and Ronkonkoma; and Eustace V. Cleary of San Fran- cisco; also four daughters , the Miss- es . Rose Mary R. Cleary, Genevieve C. Cleary, who ¦ conduct the Cleary School for Hard of Hearing at Lake Ronkonkoma; Miss Florence 'C. Cleary, a teacher in the Public Day School for the Deaf in New York , and Miss Irene E, Cleary, a teacher in the Nes- conset Public school. All reside , at Lake Ronkonkoma. GEORGE JONES George Jones , who had a vari ed , in- teresting business career in this sec- tion for many years up to his retire- ment a decade ago , died Thursday at 33 Jones place , Patchog:ue , the house where he was born 80 . years ago and hi which- he had resided all his life. Mr. Jones , who had heen ill for some time , was associated with the Life Saving: service , predecessor of the Coast Guard , for several years as a young man , and in 1887 he was ap- pointed captain of . the Blue Poin t Life Saving station . Later , he conducted a hotel on Di vision street at the head of Patch- ogue river , and. in conjunction with this enterprise , he op era ted a coal business for about . 30 years , bringing supplies here by schoon er. In recent years , he was a member of- the Patchogue Village hoard of Zoning Appeals. He was also a mem- ber of South Side lodge , F. and A. M „ the . Foresters and the Shepherds. Last September , Mr. Jones and his wife observed, their forty-third wed- ding anniversary. Besides his wife , Mrs. Annie Jones , he leaves a brother , Edward Jones , also of Patchogue. GEORGE A. REID George A. Jteid , aged. 49 , well known former -wholesale florist , died sudden- ly in - bed last Wednesday night at his home on Seville boulevard , Say- ville. Born in \ Worcester , Mass. - , Mr. Reid \was a. -graduate of the Massachusetts State College of Agriculture and had lived in Sayville and- Bayport for about 20 years. He was a former treasurer . of the Bayport School dis- trict. ' For a number of years while in Bayport , he . ' operated greenhouses , as a .. . wholesale - 'florist specializing in roses. During the _past several years , in* -co-operation witli. his wife , he conducted a _ flower , shop on Main street , Sayville, He leaves his wife , Mis. Katblocn Walsh Reid; \ a son , Ralph; A. Roid , both of Sayville; a daughter , Mrs. Virginia Lepson of Bayport; a broth- er , Hugh Reid oi' Chicopee Falls , Mass.; ' a sister , Mrs. Arthur Haley, and his mother, Mrs., Grace-Reid , both of Springfield , Mass , MRS.
