Mon- day, when the light delivery truek in which they were riding was struck by a New York-bound Long Island railroad express train at the Tiana grade crossing, west of Hampton Bays. ' - The truck was northbound , and it is believed that Kuroski was driving. Both bodies were badly mangled , the truck being carried down the tracks a distance of about 200 feet. The Tiana crossing is a shor t dis- tance east of the railroad underpass. The crossing is protected only by the ordinary crossing signs , but visibility for motorists approaching it is not obscured. $> The engine of the train was- sligh tly damaged. Frank Smith of Jamaica was engineer , and George Neaves of Jamaica was conductor. The accident was investigated by Police Chief Johft H. Sutter of Hampton Bays. Police action was withheld pending an inves- tigation by the district attorney ' s office. Mr. Kuroski , who operated a florist business on Montauk highway in Quogue for a number of years , leaves his wife and two daughters. He is a brother-in-law of Mrs . John J. Novinski of Patchogue. Quogue Florist and His Helper Die As Train Wrecks Truck at Tiana Twenty-six children received Firs t Holy communion in an impressive ceremony at the 8:15 o ' clock mass Sunday at St. Joseph' s R. C. church , Ronkonkoma. The youngsters , 1 -5 boys and 11 girls , had been train- ed during the past year by the nuns of the Cenacle convent , who conduct Sunday-school classes every Sunday at St. Joseph' s.
