Draft Office Going to Lake Street Quarters Adjoining Motor Bureau Space Needed in Town Hali—Questionnaires Are Sent Out to 120 More Men , Bringing Total Up to 930 The headquarters for Local Draft Board 702 , situated, in tlie Brookhaven Town hall since October 24 last , when the board , of which Frank Light- body is chairman , first began its duties , will be moved to -25 Lake street , Patc&ogue , next to the firehouse , on or about February 21 , boai'd members said Monday. The new quarters , to be occupied under lease that is now awaiting formal approval by federal govern- ment officials , are in the rear portion oi the building that Louses the local unit of the Motor Vehicle bureau. The Lake street buildin g is owned hy Mrs. Ida C. Sinn , mother of Dep- uty County Clerk William B. Sinn. The removal of the draft board from its present offices , which are part of the town assessors ' quarters , is made necessary, it was explained , because the space is needed by . the a ssessors in preparing their records for the coming year. The rear portion of the Lake street building, at present unused , is about 1 , 100 square feet in size and is to be finished off with partitions by the owner arid is to be ^ furnished by the federal government? Draft Board 702 covers all of Brook- haven town , excepting the southeast portion from Mastic Beach to East- port. Besides Mr. Lightbody, the board consists of Capt. Robert G. Hurley of Bellport and Supervisin g Principal Earl . . Vandernneulen of Port Jefferson. . The local advisory board , of which Maurice Siegel of Patchogue is chairman , also will make the Lake street building its headquar-ters. The board announced Monday that Salvatore J. Russo of 306 East Main street , Patchogue , left Patchogue Monday for the Jamaica induction cen- ter as a prospective replacement for Herman J. Schaefer of Medford , -who was rejected in a recent quota from this district. On Monday, the local board mailed 120 more questionnaires to prospec- tive draftees in this district. This makes a total of 930 questionnaires that have been distributed thus far in this district. The forms must be filled out , notarized and returned within five days from date of mailing.
