Morrissey on January 8. Charles Fish of New York visited his parents , Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fish of Patchogue road , Sunday. Thomas Powell , son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Oliver Powell of Union ave- nue , is spending several days with his parents. He enlisted recentl y and is a private at Mitchel field. A birthday celebration \was held in honor of Mrs . Richard Newton last Thursday at a meeting of the Octet Bridge club at the home of Mrs. An- ton 'Pedisich. Mre. Newton received lovel y g ifts. Winners at cards were Mrs. Newton , Miss Marie Erny and Mrs. Pedisich . The next meeting will be January 9 , with Miss Catherine Curtis as hostess. ' Mrs. Henrietta Newton , her two daughters , Miss Fran ces Newton and Miss Doris Newton and son Richard Newto n will spend the Christmas holiday at the- home of another daugh- ter-, Mrs. Herbert West of Key p ort , N. J. This evening after the young people of the Lake Ronkonkoma Methodist church are through with their Christmas carolling, they will have refreshments at Mrs. Newton ' s home on Portion road. Miss Elizabeth Agnew will come home by airplane this evening from Providence , R. I., where she is em- ployed as a hospita l dietitian , to spend two days with her family. All Clear in Ccrnirt Kfeyer ^MEwer Fend Grand Jury Fails to Indict Olga Mayer — Charge Against Other Woman Dismissed Last Month All is quiet on the courtroom front of the Mayer-Mayer ease , Farming- vill e ' s ' nei ghborly feud. The principals , next-door neighbors of Pinedale avenue , were Mrs. Ol ga Mayer and Mrs. Jarika Mayer. They are hot/related. Last September , Neighbor Ol ga •was arrested by . Brookhaven Town police on a second degree assault charge made by Neighbor Janka. Olga then made a counter-charge of second degree assault against Neigh- bor Janka. Oh October 31 , after hearin g both sides of the story, Jus- tice df the Peace Donald W. Shaw of Bellport dismissed the \ charge against Neighbor Janka , then ordered Neigh- bor Ohra held for the grand jury. Last \week , the Suffolk grand jury heard the case against Neighbor Olga , then failed, to indict. Mrs. Olga Mayer b efore the grand j ury. Medford Worker Cleared in Acc ident Death of F. Curcio At an inquest held in Smithtown last Friday by Coroner Grover A. Silliman of Sayville , Russell New- man , aged 32 , of 163-20 , World' s Fair boulevard , Queens , who was employed on the Medford crossing elimination project , was cleared of criminal negli gence in the death near Smithtown on November 9 of Frederick Curcio , aged 33 , of Jack- son Heights. Mr. Curcio , a foreman on the Medford project , died as the result of injurie s sustained when the car in which he was riding be- came involved in two separate acci- dents on Jerich o turnpike , west of Smithtown , within the space of a few mom ents. Mr. Curcio was a passenger in a car driven by Mr. Newman. Attorney Arthur R.Reich of Medford represented Mr. Newman at the m q-uest .
