Event on Jul y 27 Will Draw Many Partici- pants , Spectators Parade of Visiting Fire Com- panies and Groups Will Precede Contests at 2 P. Mo With an almost 100 per cent repre- sentation of the fire departments throughout Brookhaven town expected to participate in the eleventh annual tournament of the Brookhaven Tcwn Volunteer Firemen ' s association , to be held at Farmingville on Saturday, July 27 , this event promises to at- tract a great number of spectators from other communities in the town . Preceding the competitive events a parade of the visiting fire companies , auxiliaries , junior departments and bands , headed by an historical repre- sentative group, forming on \Woody Crest drive , south of Horse Block road , will start at 1 o ' clock with line of march north on Woody Crest drive to Horse Block road , tben west to Hanrahan avenue to the tournament grounds. The budget , as passed at the meet- ing, calls for 320 , 716 in estimated expenses , of which the largest item is for instructional service , $11 , 575. Allowing for expected income , which includes an estimated $6 , 500 in state aid , the net budget left to be raised by -taxation is $13 , 500. Changes Are Allowed , Zoning Requirements Five applications for modifications in zoning requirements were approved Thursday by -tli e Brookhaven Town Board of Zoning Appeals , following a hearing in tne Town hall , Patch- ogue , which brought out no opposi- tion. Question Now Confronts the Town Trustees Certain Dwellings Along Shore Vio- . late These Rights , if There Are Any, Resident Contends The question of whether rights-of- way . established more than two cen- turies ago by the Brookhaven Town Board of Trustees covers a body of ;jvater commonly known as Half-mile pond , Middle \Island , confronts .the present Town trustees. The question arose from . the com- plaint of Wilbur Blydenburgh , who lives in the Franklin Davis homestead , a short distance east of the pond, who reporte d to the Town trustees that three dwellings ' have been erected within the past year on site s on the pon d shore. Gasmon ' s Charge Of Meisner Threat Medford Man Denies Remark Against Sending Boys to Army, Offers Alibi—Jury Deliberates for Hour An h our ' s deliberation by a jury composed of four men ' and two wo- men ended in a disagreement in the Brookhaven Town hall Thursday in the trial of Karl G. J. Meisner , aged 36 , of Oregon avenue , Medford , who was accused of disorderly conduct by Mrs. Florence Gannon of Mt. Ver- non avenue , Medford. After the jury, of which Mrs. Har- riet Larsen of Patch' ogiie was fore- woman , made its report to Justice of the Peace Donald W. fihaw of Bell- port , , Meisner was continued in $200 bail. ' No date for retrial was set by Judge Sh aw , Mrs. Gannon , mother of six sons who have served or are serving en- listments in -th e United States Army, testified that about 7:30 a. m. on ( COnthmed on -page 16) ' Brookhaven town ' s \ street with six ends , \ which has prodded a long- standing problem for the Town board , now has a-theme Song, - H. Yaphank , and former officers of the league have taken over the camp with the an- nouncement that hereafter the camp Will be \ non -political\ with \ no parades and demonstrations. \ This was .disclosed several days ago with the publication in the week- ly bund organ , The Free American and Deutcher Weckruf and Beobach- ter , of a notice that the bund and its branches are \ not in any way con- nected with and are in no way liable for debts \ , of the league or the camp. August Klapproth, who- resigned as president of the league , declared that the national officers \did the only thing they could do and got out. \ While Gamp Siegfried has been largely inactive for the past- six weeks , its opening rally for the sea- son on May 26 last , sponsored by the bund developed into a factional squab- ble concerning the bund' s right to hold the celebration there. Permission to use the grounds for the May 26 occasion , it was claimed , was gran ted in consideration of a fee paid by the bund and was voted by the league ' s directors at a Brooklyn meet- ing two weeks earlier. In the course of the May 26 pro- gram , which was directed by Klapp- roth , an appeal .was made , to Brook- have n Town and Suffolk police au- thorities by George Fredericks of Amityville , representing Ernest Muel- ler , former president of the German- American Settlement league.
