Hawkins , former prin-, ' cipal of the Lake Ronkonkoma school ,,, advocated the defeat of the five-man- y board plan and urged the re-election ' of Frank J. Mooney as a member, of the Lake Ronkonkoma school board ; at an inf ormal -gathering held -at the Lake Ronkonkoma school last night. At the annual district meeting on Tuesday , July 9 , the Lake Rohkoriko- ma voters will consider a proposition to increase the board f rom . three to five members and to elect a trustee in the place of Mr. Mooney , whose term expires this year ly . CENTEREACH SCHOOL The school picnic , , sponsored by the Parent-Teacher association , was heW ' at West Meadow Beach last Thursday. As the water was cold and very rough , sun bathiiig was more popular than swimming. Many mothers accompanied the children , also Miss Dorothy Merkel , 33. Wil- liams , teachers , Ben Tabatchnik and Miss Brandi , school nurse. There -was one minor casualty when Frank Walsh cut his foot and received first aid treatment from Miss Brandi. After lunch Mr. Williams , assisted by Roger Teemly, distributed ice cream and cake provided by the Parent- Teacher association . Principal George O. Smith was present for a short time in the afternoon. WEST MIDDLE ISLAND SCHOOL A picnic was given for the children of the West Middle Islan d school at Wildwood State park.
