Suffolk County - committee of the American Labor party which met last Wednesday af The Stewart Arms , Huntington , went on record as • being opposed to the activities of Left- Wingers. D. F. Bottorff of River- head' was elected to fill the unexpired term of treasurer. The followin g were elected county committeemen : Mack Skyer , ' Hol- brook ; Kenneth- Watt , Huntington; Stephen Armer , Huntington ; Will Grist , : Bay Shore; Paul S. Means , Riv- erh ead ; Kathleen -Mean s , Riverhead; Winston Reece , Riverhead. Plans for the coming election were interrupted to express the courity committee ' s opposition to the Com- munists who have been ' attempting to- gain control of the Labor party. The courity committee believes the following resolution which was adopt- ed places it 'd efinitel y and conclusive- ly on record as opposed to the machin- ations of the Communist party or oth- er t ' otalitariaris. The resolution : is to the . ' effect ' that . the committee is not i-n. - favor of the so-called Left Wingers , arid intends , to evict them from the: party. The reason for this stand being- made is that the so-called Progressive group is dominated \ by the Communist partj or those in sympathy with it. At the next meeting • of county committee , plans will be presented with the view to raising more funds for trie : November campaign.
