Parente and Richard M. Henry, was disbanded , pending the outcome of a request for a ' fire district , when a new firehouse will be sought. The Ladies ' auxiliary of the Fire department , in a letter to the organ- ization; expressed itself unanimously in favor of a new firehouse. The de- partment answered that action on a firehouse will be deferred pending the outcome of a fire district. The basis of the eontrovery among the firemen is the \ question of wheth- er the independent company should seek to build its own firehouse , which is the \ plan favored by Mr. Cullen and his supporters , or whether the or- ganization o ' f a legal district should he sougdit ,. with the aim of thereafter getting ' a firehouse at taxpayers ' ex- pense. The latter is the plan favored by Chief Haspel and his supporters. Withdraw Charges On Selden Firemen Finns ' Relief Bouts Are Tomorrow Ni ght A sharp increase in ticket sales for the A. A. U. boxing bouts to be held in the Patchogue High School gym- nasium tomorrow evening has been reported in the past few days by the members of the Patchogue Citizens Finnish Relief, committee. The entire net proceeds of the event are to be turned over to the Finnish Relief Fund in New York and the committee is anxious to make the check as large as possible. The seating* plan provides for ac- commodations for 875 persons , so ar- ranged that all will afford a clear view of the ring. ZuO Birds fly In ' 'Pigeon Test Aided by a strong west wind ,, moxe than 200 pigeons belonging to mem- bers of the Patchogue Homing Pigeon club covered a .65-mile distance be- tween Tottenville , Staten Island , and this section within from 50 to .0 minutes Sunday morning in a pre- season training flight. In numerous instances , the birds , flying at better than a milc-a-minute over the course , overflew their - destination and ap- proached their home coops from the east.
