Bill Popular Films At Sayville Theatre Victor Herbert , noted American composer , conies to life on tlie screen tomorrow to Saturday at the Say- ville theatre , in a film based on his personality. \The Great Victor Her- bert , \ a story built around his in- fluence on the Broadway of his day, and his friendship with a young ac- tor and actress who rise to fame in his operettas , stars Walter Connolly in the titl e role , and Allan Jones and Mary Martin. The co-feature , \Tlie Secret of Dr. Kildare , \ another pic- ture in the Dr. Kildare series , again stars . Lionel Barrymore , and Lew Ayres. \Brother Rat and the Baby, \ se- quel to the comedy film , \Brother Rat , \ will be shown S unday through Tuesday. Priscilla Lane , Wayne Mor- ris , Eddie Albert , Jane Bryan , Jane Wyman and Ronald Reagan appear in the leading roles in this film , which continues the adventure s of a trio of V. Mi I. cadets after gradu- ation. Arthur Treacher is also fea- tured. Charles Laughton plays the crip- pled cathedral bellringer in \The Hunchback of Notre Dame , \ to be shown Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The plot dwells oh Quas- imodo , caretaker of the bells of Notre Dame, who falls hopelessly in love with a gypsy charmer , Esmeralda. Sir Cedric Hardwicke , Thomas Mit- chell , Maureen O'Hara and Kather- ine Alexander are in tlie cast. There are matinees Saturdays , Sundays and holidays. Films of the Week . The plot dwells on Quasimodo , the caretaker of the bells of Notre Dame , who falls hopelessly in love witli a gypsy charmer , Esmeralda , whose exotic dancing at the annual Feast of Fools arouses the interest of the King ' s high justice , Frollo. MacMurray^ Stanwyck In Amusing Romance The story , of a district attorney who falls in loye . with a girl he ' s try- ing to send to prison is presented in \Remember , The Night, \ which opens a three-day engagement at the Pat- chogue theatre on Thursday . Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck have the leading roles , as- sisted by Beulah Bondi/ Elizabeth Patterson and Sterling Holloway. One of the features of the film is a swing version of \Back Home in Indiana , \ rendered by Martha Mears and The King ' s Men. This music is used to set the mood of the picture , most of the action of which is cen- tered on an Indiana farm. In \Little Old New York\ Richard Greene and Brenda Joyce are in the cast of \Little Old New York , \ which is showing at the Pat- chogue theatre for the last times today.
