Two Chinese Arrested , Ronkonkoma , Charged With Running Alcohol Still Rudyard Kiphng notwithstanding, East met West in a Ronkonkoma dwelling at noon Thursday and as a result , Wing Ping and Tom Den , Chinese , are in the custody of Federal authorities on a charge of illegally manufacturing alcohol . The Orientals were arrested by Islip Town Police Chief Richard N. Tucker and Federal officers during a raid on a two-story building on John- son avenue ,, near the Ronkonkoma school , where police say, they found a 500-gallon still on the second floor. The equipment and the raw mater : ials allegedly used for the making of liquor were confiscated. Ping and Den were arrai gned be- fore Justice of the Peace Charles H. Duryea at Sayville on a disorderl y conduct charge. Each was given a 80-day . suspended sentence, then they were turn 3d over to the Federal men , who took them to Brooklyn to be arraigned in Federal court on the illicit liqu or charge. Annual Community Party Held in Coram The second annual community Christmas party was held in the Coram Community house Friday evening, with many present to enjoy the fun and songs ' . The choir of the Middle Island Presbyterian church sang several Christmas carols. Amedeo Delli Bovi played \Love ' s Serenade \ by Fritz Kreisler and \Serenade \ by Drigo , on the bass violin. Mrs. William Stewart played the piano and Mrs. Fred Henson san g as a solo , ''Bri g htest and Best of the Stars of the Morning. \ Refreshments were served ' and each child was given candy, donated by the Coram welfare club, Mrs. Rudy Hahn v/as in charge of the candy distribution and Mrs. Frank Lyon and Mrs. Frank Hagen had charge of refreshments. All present voted in favor of having a similar party next year and Miss Dorothy M, Still was appointed chairman . Sunday at Green- port and Oregon avenues, Medford , in which both cars involved overturned. The Brookhaven Town police re- port showed that a coupe , owned and op erated by Miss Ellen Maxner , of South Country road , Sayville , going eastward on Greenport avenue , col- lided with a coach , owned by Charles Klecak of 46 John street , Sayville , and operated by his wi fe , Mrs. Mar- garet Klecak , southbound on Oregon avenue. The injured were Mrs. Klecak , head injury and bruises ' of the righ t knee , and Mrs. Ann a Leonardo , of 339 West 84th street , New York , a pas- senger in the Klecak car , bruises of chest , right side and right sh oulder and possible internal injuries. Mrs. Klecak was attended by Dr. John W. Bennett of Patchogue. Mrs . Leonardo was removed to the office of- Dr. Jacob Dranitzke in Patchogue by Mrs. George Gathmann of Oregon avenue , Medford , and was later trans- ferred to Mather Memorial hospital , Port Jefferson. Officers Charles Try- wuscli and Albert Quattlander inves- tigated, Killer of Friend Ss Put to Death Myslivee Executed for Crime in Farmingville Dobitz Was Victim in Shooting in November , 1938 — Murderer Soon Caught After Flight to City The friend who proved to be an enemy paid the extreme penalty in the electric chair at Sing Sing prison Thursday night. He was Anton Myslivee , age d , 54 , who was arrested at his lodging house in New York early in the morning of November 22 , 1938 , within ten hours after he had murdered William Dobitz , 55-year-old builder , outside the Dobitz home on Woody- crest drive , Farmingville. Alone at the time , Dobitz went to the back door of his four-room bunga- low to whistle in the dark for Rex , his pet fox terrier. As he stood sil- houetted against the pantry light , a shotgun rang out less than a dozen yards away, the charge, imbeddin g itself in the small of his back . Before he died an hour later , Do- bitz told Brookhaven Town Police Sergeant Alvin Smith th at * ~ T hav e no enemies. I can 't understand why anyone should want to shoot me in the back . \ Myslivee , who had been befriended hy Dobitz and in return had carried on a clandestine romance with the latter ' s wife , was subsequently con- victed of murder by a jury before County Judge L. Barron Hill at Riv- erhead. He was the third of three men electrocuted Thursday night. RepiMicans Hit New High Figure , Party Enrollment 44 , 808 Sign Up for Primaries in County Increase Made in All Towns But One —Suffolk Democratic Party Mem* hers ' Total Is 18 , 338 Republican enrollm ents reached an all-time high in Suffolk in the No- vember election , in which 44 , 808 vot- ers throughout the county qualified to take part in the 1940 primary election , according to figures issued by the Board of Elections at River- head. Gains in the Republican rank s were reported in nine of the ten towns , Brookhaven leading with an increase of 1 , 077 over last year ' s figures. The Democrats showed an increase of 678 enrollees in Brookhaven. Southold , the onl y town, in which a Republican decrease was reported , lost 30 G.O.P. enrolled voters . The enrolled strength of . th e Dem- ocratic party showed a decrease in the Seeond Assembly district , but gained sufficiently in the First As- sembly district to offset this loss. (Continued on page 2) Mid-Island Youngsters Enjoy Christmas Party At Centereach Firehall Centereach firehall was filled to capacit y with children from Center- each , Ronkonkoma , Lake Grove and Selden , last Saturday at the Christ- mas party sponsored by the Brook- haven Town Highway association , Harold Davis , superintendent of highways , and Andrew Havens , town clerk . Santa Claus presented the children with packages , assi sted by T. Morrissey, chairman. The Cen- tereach school band played Christ- mas carols , while the children sang. The band was conducted by Ben Tabatclmilc of Blue ' Point, . , 1 4th Infantry Vf if Guardsmen Train At Upton a Week Eleven hundred members of the Fourteenth Infan try National Guar d regiment of Brooklyn , Hempstead and Flushing arrived at Camp Upton , Yaphank , yesterday for six days of field training. Members of the regi- ment assembled at 1 the Fourteenth regiment armory in Brooklyn , th en marched to the Flatbush avenue sta- tion of the Long Island railroad , •where they entrained for Yaphank. Colonel William R. Jackson is in command of tlie units during the week of maneuvers. The Fourteenth reg- iment is the last in Greater New York to take field training this year , although a number of units will spend, briejf periods of outdoor training dur- ing JAnnary.
