Mr, Alvin A. Kess- ler. Assistant Vice President, Lynbrook Office, accepted the award for Suburbia at a Little League dinner held recently at the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jew- ish Center. The team placed first in the Senior Division of the League under the fine direc- tion of coach Ben Langweber. Suburbia now has three trophies and sponsorship placques on per- manent display in their Lynbrook Office at 50 Broadway. Suburbia, whose main office is in Garden City, also sponsors a team in that community. He was taken for treatment to Mercy Hospital by his grand- mother, Mrs, J, Colletti, The animal, a tri-color beagle, owner unknown, was picked up by the Town of Hempstead Dog Pound and held for observation. On May 6th, Carol Fiala, 6 years, of 60 Ogston Terracf'A received a dog bite on the le!-.^^ ear lobe while playing in the living room at 107 Nottingham Road, home of Charles Manning, owner of the animal. She was taken to Dr, Beckmann of Mal- verne for treatment. May 7th, Patrolmen Mermon and Ringersen responded on an aided call to 16 Utterby Road, where Ann Martin of 12 Utterby Road was suffering from shock and depression. They admin- istered oxygen until the arrival of Dr, Leo Kaiser, Police Sur- geon, who ordered her to Frank- lin General Hospital. There was a collision at the intersection of Cornwell andWolf Avenues on May 8th, involving Max Rosen of 29 Atlas Avenue and Thersia A. Elietz of Wolf Avenue. Mr. Rosen wi.W operating a 59 Plymouth south on Cornwell Avenue, owned by Estelle Robbins, 29 Atlas Ave., and Mrs. Elietz was driving a 65 Pontiac west on Wolf Avenue. Medical attention was refused at the scene. SuburbanPartv J It was announced this week that John P. Gaudiosi had called a meeting of the Directors of the Suburban Party of Lynbrook for the purpose of organizing a campaign for the forthcoming village elections. Gaudiosi was astonished that at the last Budget Hearing only 22 people were in the audience, which was comprised of 15 Vil- lage of Lynbrook employees, 5 Unity Party members who were not employed by the Village, 1 newcomer to Lynbrook, and him- self. The Village Trustees prais- ed themselves for such a poor showing because they felt it indi- cated that the people of Lynbrook were pleased with their perfor- mance. Gaudiosi felt that the comp- lete engulfment of village affaii^^ and fiscal policy by the Un.^P Party is forcing s^athy on the residents and, therefore, their regime must not go unchallenged in the next election, which will be held in March of 1967. It was pointed out at the last Budget Hearing by the newcomer to Lynbrook, that the proposed price of a fire engine pumper for $57,000 by tlie Village was $27,000 above the price that New York City pays for the identical equipment. The Mayor answered that this was brought about prin- cipally by the firemen's request to have covers put over their boot compartments so as to pro- tect them from the rain. The ridiculousness and the audacity of such an answer no longer receives active rebutal becauss^ the.re is no bi-partisan represeil^V tation in our village government. Insofar as it appears that the Village Party will not be able to launch an effective campaign a- gainst the Unity Party following its 2 defeats, although the Su- burban Party refrained from campaigning in the last election, it is felt that the Suburban Party should now take the initiative.
