APPOINTED CHAIRMAN State Senator Edward J. Speno, 1963 Crusade Chairman for the Na.s«iu Division, American Cancer Society, announced today another top appointment in tlie organization which will conduct the annual Cru- sade in April. He has appointed John S. Lockman, Attorney, with ofFices in Massaix-qua, to sei-ve as County Residential Chainnan. Mr. Loclaiian will apixiint Sectional Chairmen for the seven districts in Nassau, who in turn will recruit the Village Resi- dential Chairmen to cover over eighty Village in the County. Mr. Lockman lives in North Mer- rick and is a Hempstead Town Councilman. He is past President of the North Merrick Republican Club and the Nassau County Republican Recruits. He is the past Judge Ad- vocate of Post No. 1066 American Legion and is a member of the Mas- sapequa Veteran of Foreign Wars. He is a graduate of Hofstra Col- lege, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and received his law de- gree from New York University School of L^^w. He is a memljer of the Nasstiu County Bar Association; South Nassau Lawyers Association; Criminal Court Lawyer Association; and is a Director of the Meadow- brook Boy Scouts. He is married and has four children. Biology Students View Cancer Film More than 500 biology students at the Lawrence High School, saw the film \P>om One Cell\ sponsored by the American Cancer Society, Nassau Division, this past Wednes- day. Through the cooperation of Mr. Walter Ahner, of the Science Department, and Mrs. Bernard Turk, of tlie Five Towns Unit Edu- cation Deixutment of tlie American Cancer Society, these students saw the actual l)eginning of cancer cells, how they grow and how they spread.
