FROM ANTON MEDIA GROUP \Holiday Lights, shining so bright ” was one of the songs elementary school children sang in their holiday concerts awhile back. Since the beginning of the season, these lights brighten the most dreary of days and bring joy and happiness to those who look at them. It is amazing that such a tiny light brings hope into the world. It truly brings us out of the darkness into a better place. Whether it is lighting a menorah or lighting a wreath or Christmas tree, lights are a symbol of joy. Songs like \You Light Up My Life ” by Debbie Boone is just one of the many songs related to light praises about human relationships that are changed because of what they have done to take Thank you Manhasset for once again making the annual Holiday Poster Contest a huge success. This year ’ s theme was All Aboard the Manhasset Polar Express, and the kids did an amazing job creating their artwork. It really does get harder and harder each year to choose the winners...the artists keep getting better. A big thank you to all the schools, especially the art teachers, who helped get the word out by distributing the flyers. Thank you to all the businesses that displayed them out of darkness. In Manhasset, we love celebrations revolving around light. The first was Light the Night, a tradition that began in the Village of Munsey Park in 2009 and expanded to include all the villages of Manhasset. The annual event lines the front of homes and streets in celebration of our unity and pride in our neighborhood. The quiet peacefulness of the evening is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season, come together as a communi ty and provides a moment to pause and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for. The lighting of the Menorah brought together all faiths. Chanukah ’ s message is that a little light dispels the darkness.
