But the scheme as a whole should be heartily endorsed oh its merits by every forward- litoklng citizen. Primary Results A compilation of the vote for J. Russel Sprague in the recent Pri mary toKtlon by Colonel E. M. Podeyn of headquarters, shows In teresting and somewhat surprising results when studied separately by Townships. Naturally enough, the Town of Hempstead took first posi tion, Mr. Sprague receiving 33.8 percent of the total enrollment; 18,339 of a possible 53,03i4. Long Beach's peKentage was second to Hampstead, 30J, but the enrollment was .,sinall, only TI8, with 235 v^s • cast. North HempMead polled 3632 votes, or 263 per cent., the enrollment being 18,762; Oyster Bay cast 2406 votes out of 9650 .enrolled, or 343 percent. Glen cove gave Mr. Sprague 871 votes out of 1611 en rollment — 30.4 percent. Freeport had the largest enrollment, 557f voting 1682, or 29.6 percent. Hemprtead 'Village with a smaller enrollment. 8060, voted 1746— 34.3 percent. Rookvllle Centre, with an enroll ment of 4067, cast 1286 votes for the Supervisor, or 31.9 percent. New Hyde Park brought up the per centage rear with 17.3. Mlneola led North Hempstead with 343 percent., voting 822 of 2883 enrolled, Great Neck had a larger enrollment, 2443, but voted onlv 580, or 24.1 percent.
