More than 100 chil dren squealed with de light to find Santa sit ting on his throne in the lobby of the Post Office. “ I ’ve been living in Manhasset for over 21 years and never saw anything this nice for the children ” said one resident. Santa spent time with each child and gave each child a small gift as they left. Little Amanda Schantz is delighted to meet Santa in person. “ A Post Office is the heartbeat and center of any small town ” said Manhasset Postmaster Robert Trombley, “ so it only makes sense that we do something like this for the children ” he added. “ It ’ s our pleasure to give some thing back to the community and to bring some joy and holiday spirit to its resi dents ” said Trombley. Thirty-year Letter Carrier John Hinde did the honors as “ Santa, ” and Robert Trombley Jr. agreed (a little warily) to be “The Elf. ” A wonderful time was had by all as noted by little Chris Brown Jr., who said to his Dad, “ It ’ s really him! ” Kiwanis President Jerry Rudnick visits Santa (30-year let ter carrier John Hinde) and his elf (Robert Trombley Jr.) as Kiwanis volunteers collected for the Salvation Army outside the post office. : Bali Oanear by Luther Paid; Ubud, Bali ^Colulq^ SaAi6ttion/ % • Q)o- Q%u> <fe - Vietnam' Holiday Savings of 10% - 30% On AH Paintings & Antiques 81 Middle Neck Road • Great Neck Two Miles North of Lir..ptH 33 (Lakeville Rd.) iS1 6) 466-5857 Here ’ s your license to save.
