Stawsky, but won out with an almost 3 to 1 vricbory, polling 1772 votes to opp0!lemt's 677. Michael Hughes, regular Democraizic candidate for Supervisor was 344 votes above his nearest opponent in a 5 sided race, with 961 votes. Albert Burke, also made a wonderful run, considering the number of camdidates in: the field by polling 517 votes. City Judge John R. Pillion, Republican candidate to succeed himself, and Rudolph Weinstein, regular Democratic nominee, both won hands down against Edward Sobolewski, who was asking sup- port from both major parties. Both candidates for City Treasurer received a. heavy compli- menltairy vote as their nomonation was not contested. . Republican Assessors ran unopposed, but the three candidates backed by the Democratic organization -literally swamped the op- posit3i'o*n-.
