A. mu-: HIGH SCHOOL BAND TO E.jNT=‘ERTA-IN CLASS OF ‘33 All arrangements have been completed for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Zora Krasjnik Lodge, Croatian Fra- ternal Union in‘ the Croatian church hall Sunday. _ One of the -oldest fraternal organizations in ‘Lackawanna, its. members have had a large part in the development of the steel industry, real estate and business of the city. Forsaking their ‘home in the former Hungarian empire for the freedom of America, the founders of the lodge, most of whom were expert steel wor-ks ers, soon became a factor where ever they ._settled and, after coming to Laclgawanna to help establish the old Lacka. wanna Steel, soon brought their wives and families here and established homes for them. Achance for a settlement of an old con-trovlersy between 'Itax=pa.’yers of the city and the School Board, -the hiring of teachers, will soon be thrashed, out ‘by unbiased judges under conditions now confronting the ?Edu‘cation'ajl department of the City. ~Commencin_g with the next school the department will be called upon to furnish tuition for /about 100 Juniors in the High ‘School annex on Dona Street, which will necessitate the hiring of an additional ‘teaching staff. Now, that the class of 1-935 has reached such pro.port-ions, an enlarged teaching staff and additional apparatus must be provided by the Deepartment of Education, if Lackawanna is to keep -its present High School standing, according to the State School Law. General Order: Naturally, these Croatians chipped in whenever -one of their nationals was sick, hurt or killed to help his family.
