Freeport Girl Scouts on Thursday,May 24, at the West Wind Yacht Club, by presenting them with the Civic Leadership Award for their outstanding service to the Ffccport community. . The public is Invited to join, in ibis ^ward program honoring both Tom for his many achievements and years of service to the Boy Scouts, and Leslie who has been involved with Girl Scouting since the tender-age of five, and who is presently the Junio# Scout Leader at Atkinson School ’ Tom Judge and his wife, Sharon arc the parents of three children, Tom Jr.. Virginia and Jonathon, All of whom ha\*c also been mwived with scouting. . Tbm Sr. is a civil engineer working for Nassau County for over 30 years. Sharon works as a school teacher specializing in leaching Spanish- speaking students how to read and write English, she h?rsclf participated in an -International Girl Seoul Exchange in 1983 with West Germany. Thomas Judge, Sr. Leslie Wright The guest speaker from the Boy Scouts for the evening will be Tom Preston, Merroque District Committee Leader. He will tell about scouting today and how the award wipner joined scouting in 1946 at the age of 9 serving scouting as a counselor, organizer, and * scoutmaster for the past 25 years. In addition to her activities as the Atkinson Junior Troop Leader, Leslie is a Delegate to* the Nassau Council of Girl Scouts. She earned a pin as an International Host by hosting Girl Scouts on their visit to America, and Leslie, a graduate of University of Virginia, is a Claims Adjuster for Allstate Insurance Company and remains involved with girl scouting because She wants to help young people in our community have the same opportunities and experiences she enjoyed. • The dinner program will begin at 6:45 p.m. and will cost S16.50 per person which includes dessert and all gratuities.
