LaBella, and Freeport Deputy Mayor Vin cent Di Costanxo. Mrs. Di Costanto i t also survived by 10 grandchildren and one gi^t-grandduld. Funeral ser vices were held at St. Stephen R.C. Church in Brooklyn and interment was in Greenwood Cemete Obituaries HAROLD a HICKS Harold C. Hicks. Sr., 79, died on July 4. He was a retired employee of the Freeport Post Omce. Mr. Hicks, a Rooeevelt resident, is ,survived by his daughters, Eleanor, Barbara, and Bever ly; his son, Harold, Jr.; his brothers, FVed and Charles; and his citlers, Maude and Jennie. He it also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, and interment was in Greenfield Cemetery. JOSEPH P. MULVANEY Joseph P. Mulvaney died on July 4. He was 80. Mr. Mul- vaney, a North Merrick resi dent, was an active member of the Freeport Knights of Columbus, ArchMshop Molloy Council 1974. He was the hus band of the late Alice, and is survived by his sons, Robert, Richard, and Donald, and 10 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Sacred Heart R.C. Church in North Merrick. Interment was in Holy Rood Cemetery under the direction of Hunger- ford and Clark Funeral Home. BERNARD TRUB Freeport resident Bernard TVub died on June 27. He was 46. Mr. TVub was the husband of Jo Ann, the father of Brian, and the son of Henny and Sol. He is also survived by his brother, Jack, four nephews and one niece. Funeral ser vices were held at Gutter- man's, Inc. and interment was in Be^ Moses Cemetery. ItcUflious Ketos u 00 n Summer fun ■i Shakespeare festival a success Freeport High School’s Eng lish Department held its Fourth A n n u a l Shakespeare Festival recently with all English dosses invotv^ in the reading of Wil liam ShakespeareV pla>‘S and sonnets. As enrichment for this effort, a wide variety of aam ties took place in the classroom, coordi nated by English Department Head Barbara Bertaccinl Stu dents wrote plays and poems and made posters, collages, book marks, and literary banners. They performed in skits, plays, and readings in their own class rooms and, for the benefit o f stu dents in Valley Stream North High School, in the Distance Learning Center. The festival toeluded a week- long Read-a-Tbon of Shakes peare's works in the nigh school lobby during periods one to eight. There was a Shakespeare birth day party after school in the cafeteria catered by ibe cooking classes of Home Economics teacher Christine Cepale, with some students and faculty wear ing Elizabethan costumes. on the BardV birthday, the FHS Mixed Chorus, directed by Stephen Pagano.
