Freeport voters approve budgets The Freeport School Di»- tn e t ’s 1989-90 budget of $^,496,313 was approved by voters iast'W ednesday by a margin of 120 votes. There were 723 ballots in favor of the budget, end 603 against. Runmng unopposed for the Freeport School Board, Board Vice-President B e t^ Monroe received 862 votes in her bid h>r a third term on the Board, and businessm a n Richard Ament received 836 votes to fill the seat of retiring Board member James Parola. The approved budget will raise locd school taxes by 2.89 percent, or 86.6 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The ctsr- ren t school tax p d d by the average Freeport Homeowner is $29.51 per $100.
