It's important not to lose sight of our veterans and all they have done for us. JOE CHIAFARI Safety Officer I offer a 15 percent discount to veterans every day at my cafe. When I see someone wearing a veterans hat or shirt, I try to make a point of saying thank you. ROBERTO RAMIREZ Cafe Owner In my class I make a card that says \thank you for helping to protect us.\ Then we give them to different veterans. I fly an American flag outside my house as a sign of respect, and I try to acknowledge those in uniform and thank them for their service. 2 5 • JACLYN GORDON College Student Unfortunately, a lot of our veterans are forgotten, so the best thing to do is to acknowledge their contributions and converse with them, passing their memories down to the next generation. CHRIS RDIS IT Specialist At our school, we make heart papers, and we write thank you on them and send them to the Veterans Hospital. And sometimes they write us back. CANYZITO 4th Grade KJ o
