The schedule is different in order to accommodate summer ridersbip levels. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has urged parents and safety oSioits to issue stricter vramin^ about fireworks dangers. About 10,000 injuries caused by fireworks are reported to hospital emergency rooms each year. In 1985, the latett- year for which national fire estimates are possible, fire incidents related to ■ fireworks repotted to fire departments produced about IS deaths and $36.4 million in direct property damage. Most of the deaths, injuries and property damage occurred in homes. Statistics show that the major ity of injuries due to fireworks' occur to people under the age of 20. One-fourth of these are age 10 or younger.
