The families and friends o f the ’ students Were welcomed by the Principal, George W. Hirsch. Following opening ceremonies, the program unfolded showing the talents of the children dis played in dramas, English and French songs and recorder selec tions. At the close of the talent presentation, Mr.-Hirsch distrib uted Certificates of - Academic -. Progress in each child. ' - . . A social gathering followed, and refreshments were served by Kyle Taylor, Cbaitmait, and Olga Turney Ruth Maynes and MSdred Thayer, members of the School Commission. On Wednesday, June 22, at 9 a.m., the last day of school opened with an all-classes Chapel Service. This was followed by a splash party and picnic on the grass-lined playground under the chaiimansbip of Bethkrm Smith and her committee: C a n Smyth, Pearl Urrea, Jill Kailsen, Suzanne Byrne, Iraida Munoz and Carmen Gomez. The 1988-89 President for Freeport Rotary is Mike Caputo. Jr.; the Vice President is ^ d i e Monroe; Secretary is Edward Friedlander; and Marty Schach- ter is the Treasurer. After the ceremony, the two Paul Harris Fellowship Awards were given. The recipients were Jack Shapiro and Brad Hanison.
