As of this date, nearly two- thirds of the Senior Class plan to go on to higl^ education next year. The seniors have accumu lated over S6SO,000 in scholar- thips as they near Commehce- ntent. M ^ . Saverio C. Mattel in graduation oeremonim held in O ut Holy Redeemer Church on Monday, June 13, at 8 p.m.' The graduation was the final formal ceremony of Monsignor Mattel^ putorete at OHR. He assumed his new. position u pas tor of St. Matthew's Church, D ix' Hills, on June 16. Father Mat thew Leavy, who is now the new ■ pftstor of (^'r Holy RcdcctocTi delivered the commencement ' address, and Monsignor Mattel delivered his farewell address to the class. James Lemyre was present^ ' the Khoolh award for general excellence and spoke for the graduates. Catholic Daughters of the Americas; James Lemyre, the Mathematics award pven 1^ the-Holy Name Society; Paul Ceivini, the OHR School Auxiliary's Science Award; and John Kelly, the ' OHR &hool Auxiliary^ Social Studies award. The Miisie award given in memory of Howard Rasmussen went to Dawn Hoyt 'and the Art award to Yvonne Rota. Una Castro received the Health award given in honor of Mtgr. Saverio C. Mattie, Michael O’DritcoU and Ulian Umana were presented the Phys ical Education award, and John Kelly, the Attendance award. Ackerson, the interim rector of the All Saint's Episcopal Church in Baldwin. About 88 percent of the gia- K duating class plan to further their education. About S2 percent of those continuing will attend four- year coUeges or uniyerrities, 34 percent wUl attend two-year col leges and two percent will attend technical or busoess schools. Of the remaining 12 percent, one percent are going to enter the armed forces and 11 percent plan to enter the work force. In case of rain, the ceremonies will be held iitdooTS. If the rain ' starts after the ceremonies have begun, the outdoor ceremonies wUl end and the diiriomas will imrtvediately be given to the graduates in assigned rooms in the building. .
