Levy and aimed at stemming the growing number of youthful burglary and vandalism, has gone into effect. Under the lawi parents of cluldreo who have stolen goods or have committed acts of vahdalism are now finan* cialjy liable, up to SI, 500. for the victims'.Iosses. The new law extends the provisions of Levy’s earlier laws, which gave owners' of public and private property the right to bring action to collect up to 51,000 in restitution from parents who children have willfully destroyed or damaged that property.
