Freeport School District are urged to register their youngsters this wt ek (the. week pf August 24K at .the schools their, children will be attending during -iHe 1^81-52 schTOl year. Registration for ^ ' grades, pre-kindergarten thrwighf I2th, will be held at 'the schools. 9am-3pm.' “ ‘ All new entrants to school are required to submit proof of age .and residence. For proof of age, the parent may submit a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport or affidavit. For proof of residence, the parent may submit only .a certified deed to the property, an o^cial apart ment lease, or a statement of residence certified by the Village of Freeport. Sec^^n 2164 of the New York State Public Health Law requires each child entering school to submit proof of immunization against poliomyelitis, measles, rubella, diptheria and mumps. No child will be accepted for school entrance unless his parents can submit a physician's' statement that* the child has been immu nized, or-that immunization may. ■be detrimental to his hettjth,’ or i^less the parervts testify In writing that they are members of a recognized religious group whose teachings are contrary -to that law: A child may enter kindergarten if he is no less than four years and nine months of age on September of the school year for which his l>arenls dr guardians seek to gain his admission. Thus, his fifth birthday must occur on or before December 1 of that same year. Grade placement ofall children previously in attendance in other school districts will be in accord ance with their prior school rec ords and the judgment of the principal of the school in which they register. The school district's Office of- Transportation may be contacted at 623-2100 to determine the name and location of the school a neW entrant will attend.
