ATHLETES OF THE WEEK Postponed because of last Saluiday’s stormy weatheri Freeport’s Red DcvU footballers traveled to Levittown Monday for their scheduled league game with MacArthur, and returned home sporting their fust victory of the young season. After a lackluster first half, which the MacArthur Generals led by 6 ^ on a second period score, the Red Devils got their offense rolling. Scoring eight points in each of the last 2 quarters. Freeport defeated - MacArthur 16-6 and now stands M in league pUy, and 1-2 over- successful. The fine defensive play of Jiin KalathaUs against Mepham gave the Red Devils a close game. Two goals in the final period undid the ^vU s . Kalathalds had one of his games, breaking up num- Pirate offensive plays. The Devils were bogged down by nuroeroos infractions in the 1st . half and finished the game with ISO yards lost in penalties.
