Straehan;'a Former Freeport resident, died Septem ber 29, at the age of 86, in Smith- town Nursing Home. He was a retired BrooUyn sign painter and real estate agent. Strachan and his brother Richard, who died in 1932, were the third generation of sign-makers. Their company, R. &. H. Strachan Co., made the . first electric signs in B roo^n. Some of their accounts were F « t National Bank, Ebinger’s Bak ery, the Happiness Candy Com pany (which later became XoR’s), United Cigar and Pure Oil. From 1916, until he retired in 1942, Stracham made signs. Then until 1967, - he- worked for O'Connor and Real Estate in 9;45 am Mass. (Mi 7:4S pm Miraculous Medal No- Mass. . . .
