There arc three cars assigned to theoffice of the Village Clerki in -a car-pooling arrangemenLthat includes ten people working out of Village Hall, and all are used only on Village business. One is a 1971 sedan discarded by the Police Department and repainted red and ,. white, Another Is a 1968 compact. The third is a 1969 station, wagon discarded by the Park Depart^ ment, and now used by the Village malntenancemen In hauling ladders, paints; etc., as they work In municipal facilities around the Village. This follows the guidelines In the state law. If the Citizens Party is talking aboutreductlons In assessments on commercial properties, these reductions are determined by the courts or by the Nassau County Board of Assessors, and not byihe Village, which has certainly not encouraged such reductions but has objected'to them strenuously.
