Faced with severe overcrowding of Ihe District Schools, Free port’s Board of Educotlon announced a building program to be presented t othe voters on September 29lh. Board President Hugh Erwin chaired the meeting held Wednesday at Freeport High School. He'introduced each member of the School Board whoI ] a different aspect of the program. Superintendent of Schools Chris topher Warrell described the oengested conditions of the schools on Opening Day. presented The new plan calL for addi tions to Fretpurt High School and the Archer street ■ School' and a new Middle School for grades G, 7 and 8 to be built on a 12 acre site at Raynor St. The school board already owns a 2Vt acre plot in the center of the proposed site.
