There are more than 450 students registered for the opening glasses Saturday, Oct. 8. The Workshop classes, to be held every S4t- kirday from 10 A.«M. to 12 Noon, are sponsored by the Mayor's Com mittee for Youth headed by Judge ‘ fedwin J. Freedman in conjunction livith the Freeport Recreation De- mai'tment. The 1966*67 season offers some >w and. exciting ideas in pro- •aming in Art, Drama, Dance, [juilar and- Fashion and Groom- jig. The 'students, from gi-ades 6 lluough 9, who participate will pave an opportunity to become fa miliar with techniques in making Bppier madie jewelry, .using a Botter’s wheel in potteiy, sculpt- t g in clay and wood and using til media in painting. A performance will Be held the end of April. The Guitar Workshop' group, open to all students from grade 6 through 9 will hold, a recital , in- May. The Guitar Workshop will meet in the Bayview' Avenue School cafeteria. The girls in 7th and 8th gr«tdes who attend the sessions on Good Grooming will make their debuts as models in a final fashion .show. All students will receive cards with their'' scheduled classes. Workshop sessions will meet Saturdays, between 10 A.M. and 12’ Noon at the Recreation De partment, 61 Pino Street, unless otherwise specified.
