Yamin of Wil liam Clinton Story Post 342 of the American Legion announced With cooperation of Village au- thorlUes, the American Legion plans to observe -the Fourth of July with the ringing of bells, chinuis and ' carillons for four minutes, beginning at 2 p.m. The originating cer«nony for tWs na tionwide cven^ will be conducted at Independence Hall, Philadel phia. The local obseri;ahce has been arranged by a committee representing several organiza tions, including American Legion Post 342 and its Auxiliary. “The committee asks' all resi dents—every man, woman and child—to pau^e as the bells begin to ring,” Commander YamiA said, “and reflect upon the sig nificance of Independence Day. Let us observe this mOTientous) thoir sacred honor in order that establish the independence whirir we have inherited.” Mayor Robert J. Sweeney has issued a proolamation calling up on all residents of Freeport to join in observing the nation’s birthday anniversary and par ticipate in the bell-ringing cere mony.
