In keeping with the Grand Ma- tron's request for prayers for peace, at the close of the meeting Mr. Horace E. DeLisser explained a movement which originated in Washington-about three years ago It Is the \Prayer for Peace Move- ment.\ As hi the quotation \Great ideas come when\\fine world needs them, they surround the world's Ignorance and press for admission,\ a group of Freeport businessmen .also felt there were need for prayers flor peace, Mr. DeLisser said. And so each Monday at noon they gathered at the Salvation Army and prayed for peace. But tfoey soon realized once \a week wasn^t enough. There was need for daily prayers. \We can pray, no one can take that privilege from us,\ stated Mr. DeLisser. \Today 4800 organizations have endorsed the movement and It is hoped the day will come when at twelve noon all over-the world, there will be a minute of silent prayer,\ A hymn \Lord Give Us Peace\ Was inspired by the movement.
