Simon Jfoveck, rabbi ol' Temple B'nai Israel, officiated at funeral services in the Guttman Funeral Home, Rockville Centre, for Dr. Arnold B. Appleton, 42 Ivan- hoe dr., Merrick, who died in Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan, after a long illness. Burial was in Monti- flore Cemetery, Springfield. Dr. Appleton was born in Free- port, June 24, 1917 and would have been 31 years old this month. He ^as graduated from Freeport High School in 1935, and took his pre- dental and dental courses at the University of Pennsylvania, Phila^ delphia, having been graduated in 1941. He entered the Army in 1942, was assigned to the dental division of the Medical Corps and was sta- tioned first in Washington, D. C., and then in Seattle, Wash. His office was at 93 South Main st. Surviving.are his wife, the form- er Miss Ediih Faber, to whom he was marriefjTslx years ago; a son, Kenneth, aged 4; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Appleton; a brother Norman R. Appleton, and a sister Mrs. Judith Leibowitz. Dr. Appleton was a member of Sunrise Lodge, F. & A. M. ( William Clinton Story Post, A. L., the Nas- sau County Dental Society, and the Merrick Jewish Center.
