Could it be that^she is the mysteri- ous driver of the horse and ,truck that created gales of derision be- fore the last election as it paraded the village peddling the virtues of the Uncle Tom's uaoln Party? If she isn't a Preeporter, who gave her a meddler's license to monkey with Freeport's local problems? And, just what is the \New York Committee for Justice in Free- port?\ Where is- its office? Can it be under one of the dank soap- boxes in Union Square from which the long haired boys and short haired gals scream their puny les- sons day after day, word for word, as they some in over the Moscow transmission belt, 'Since'it has no Freepore locale, why should Gov- ernor Dewey or anybody else 'give ear tb its preposterous nonsense? How about Freeporters organiz ing a Freeport Committee fo Cleaning Up New York\ of its safe-blowers, dope-peddlers, arson- ists, l brothel keepers and assorted thugs. It might be great fun!,. Freeport lias gotten along happily and successfully for a century and a quarter without outside middling in its affairs. If a squad of rabble- rousers elects tJo Disturb its eqin- imity, Freeport may well ask, since it is' a local matter, why the Fer- guson heatings were held in New York? Why weren't they held here in Freeport. at the scene, far from a , hostile atmosphere, and where the honest, decent burghers can have a close-up of the cabal that is trying to blacken the village's good name? Freeporters may have some questions of their own to ask of these denizens of Union Square, that bunghole of Com- munist oratory. For instance; what is your real name; what year were you graduated from Kills Island, that sturdy alma mater of New Dealers, and do you still wear, the old school tie, a soiled bandana? Let's smoke these birds out! Their odor is becoming pretty \high! Respectfully, Foster Gllroy Freeport., N. Y., July 30, 1946.
