George Karman, League Commissioner, has finalized all arrangements and issued this statement: \Everything is going smoothly, both the competing teams and the rest of the league are cooperating fully and a large crowd is expected. I'm sure there will be some college scouts at the game as there will be a lot of talent on display. We hope to have a band and cheer leaders, also. The reaction to this game has been very encouraging, the exposure will help make people aware of our 32-team high school league and what we are trying to accomplish.\ The game will be played on December 11 at Rink \C\, Racquet & Rink, Conklin Street, Farmingdale at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased from any of the Farmingdale team members. For your con- venience following is a list of the team members: Alan Barth, George Betancourt, John Booth, Dan Collins, Terry Butler, Joe DeFlorio, Adam DiGirolamo, Tom Duggan, Mark Everett, Scott Everett, Ed Fallon, Mike Fallon, Mike Gamblin, Mike Hendrickson, Kevin Kiendle, Roger Lavan, Ed McGovern, Denis O'Connor, John O'Connor, Mark Russell, Kevin Ryan, Jim Wright. Kathy and Kara Theal and Kris Nenstiel also have tickets for sale. In addition, tickets may be obtained from Denis O'Connor, 694-0780, or Ray Kiendle, 249-4699. Due to the fact that the Far- mingdale H.S. Hockey Club receives no subsidation of any kind from the high school, although the team is comprised of Farmingdale High School students only, this is a means of raising funds to help operate the team as we share in the proceeds from tickets sold by us. The 190 fee paid by each team member is not sufficient to cover registration and ice fees, so it is very im- portant that the students and the general public support this game as it is our only source of income. agic Carpet Over Broadway By Joe Kaliff Farmingdale Hosts Gymnastic Tourney Valerie Harper, better known lo most of you television fans as \Rhoda.\ is not Jewish, although she plays a Jewish girl in the series; has only been to the Bronx twice in her life, (in \Rhoda\ she resides in the Bronx) and has been married to Richard Shaal, an actor, writer, director. I once went all the way up to ISO pounds, although I am 5'6\ tall.\ She got the Rhoda part by beating out fifty other girls in an audition. Adds Valerie: \I'd like to be a little more like Rhoda than I am. She's very fully who she is, without apologies. I'm a utile more concerned with approval and not rocking the boat than Rhoda is. It's an area of myself I don't like, but I'm working on it.\ A THOUSAND AND ONE KNIGHTS: Golda Meir was feted and toasted last week when she came to town for the opening of \Golda the play about her life. Reason is some of the material had to be rewritten while the show was out-of-town and that delayed the opening for at least a week...Diane Keaton and Farrah Fawcett-Majors are fighting again. Reason: Diane told writer Rex Reed that \I'm glad I'm not Farrah Fawcett-Majors. I don't think I'll ever have her public image.
