For those who don't know, there are Memorial Services at 9: am held by the South Far- mingdale F.D. in front of their f ireheadquarters and by the East Farmingdale F.D. at the East Memorial School on Carmans Road. Wednesday, June 1 has been set as Volunteer Firemen's Day by the State Legislature. The Firemen expect the Legislators to act on the bills that we men- tioned in Our previous columns. Two bills are already on the Governor's desk for his signature. The first is the AMT bill which will extend the Good Samaritan Act to cover Am- bulance Medical Technicians. This will provide liability coverage to these highly skilled personnel who could only act on official calls. If they assisted some one when they were not on duty they were liable to civil suit. If the Governor passes the bill these persons will no longer be subject to civil suit as \professional medical per- sonnel.\ They will be considered the same as any other person who aids the injured such as Red Cross volunteers, Volunteer - Firemen, Emergency Medical Technicians and Nurses. The second bill on the Governor's desk is the final passage of the Paper Drive The Farmingdale Fire Dept. Drill Team's paper drive will be held this Saturday, May 28. Village residents are asked to place bundled paper by their curb Friday evening or Saturday morning. Anyone wishing to bring papers are welcome to drop them off at the rear of the firehouse anytime during the weekend. Department's annual inspection dinner as a budget item. It's now official. June 22 will be Firemen's Night at Ad- ventureland. This event is being sponsored by the East Far- mingdale Fire Department. Any fireman showing some type of Fire Department identification (a company jacket or shirt with an emblem will do) will allow the firemen to purchase tickets for himself and guests for $3.00 each person (not $3.00 per family as we had previously heard and reported) which will allow the person 2% hours of unlimited rides.
