I B I .1 0) i Dionne Warwick,Lou Raw Is At Westbury Dionne Warwick and Lou Rawls, two of the super singing and recording stars in today's musical world, appear in person at the Westbury Music 1 Fair, for a one-week concert engagement, Wednesday, June 1, thru Sunday, June 5. Both dynamic talents will perform Wednesday and Thur- sday at (8:30 p.m.); Sunday (3 p.m.), $8.75 and$7.75; Friday and Sunday (7:30 p.m.), Saturday (7 and 10:30 p.m.) and on Sunday evening (7:30 p.m.), $9.75 and $8.75. Tickets for all per- formances are on sale at the box- office and at Ticketron outlets Antique Car Show At Old Westbury Approximately 350 antique cars dating back to 1900 will have their 11th Annual Spring Meet at Old Westbury Gardens on Sun- day, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date June 19). The event is sponsored by the Greater New York Region of Antique Automobile Clubs of America. Frank Stepenak is president of the club. Visitors will have a chance to see vintage cars such as Model T Fords, Model A Fords, Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg, Franklin, Chryslers, Whippet, Packards, Maxwells and Pierce-Arrows. Come early and stroll through the gardens, abloom with roses, peonies, geranium, thalictrum, aquilegia, poppies, baptesia, hardy water lilies, foxglove, lantana and rhododendrons. Visitors are invited to visit Westbury House, furnished as it was during the Phipps' family's occupancy. It contains many English objets d'art and pieces of furniture of the 18th and earlier centuries, together with pain- tings by Joshua Reynolds, Henry Raeburn, Thomas Gainsborough. Spacious rooms, decorated with gilded mirrors, crystal and old brocades, filled with fresh flowers, recreate the gracious, unhurried atmosphere of a vanished era. Old Westbury Gardens is located on Old Westbury Road, between Jericho Turnpike and the Long Island Expressway in Old Westbury. Admission to Gardens, adults $1.50; Children 6- 12,50 cents. Youth Council Swim Club participated in a dual meet against the Levittown Swim Association. This competition awarded 1st; 2nd and 3rd place in which six swimmers, three from each team, competed in their in- dividual age group events; each swimmer being limited to swimming two events. Farmingdale Baseball m The American League Majors Baseball Season is now three weeks old and the Nationals have Jumped out to the early season lead with a record of 6-1. They are closely followed by the Eagles and Federals, both with records of 4-1. Following those three teams are the Franklins, Braves and Pyramids. In games this week the Eagles defeated the Pyramids by a score of 13-3. Strong pitching by Joe McDonough and Vinny Corolla silenced the Braves bats, while clutch hits by Chuckie Stone and Jim New led the Eagles attack. In one of the best played games of the year the Nationals defeated the Federals in a heartbreaker 2- 1. Strong pitching for the Nationals limited the Federals to four hits. Gary McElroy, pitching for the Federals, pitched equally well allowing only five National hits. Jeff Christie supplied strong hitting for the Nationals with a double and a home run. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth, John Chester won the game for the Nationals with a tremendous line drive homer deep to left field. In a tremendous win, the Braves defeated the Franklins 8- l. Fine pitching by Danny Cirko held down the clutch hitting Franklin bats. Clutch hitting by Doug Penner, Cirko and Doug Nevarro keyed many Brave rallies. The Pyramids pulled an upset by defeating the Nationals 14-4. The, Pyramid bats really came alive as they collected 15 hits. Fine t pitching by Tommy Zeng held down the Nationals. Jim Lillie and Zeng both had homers among the 7 hits they collected between them. The Federals really got their bats going as they beat the Pyramids 17-2. Mike Ihm pitched the whole way to get the win. Big bats by Gary McElroy, John Olbeter, Ihm and Jim Loschiavo brought home many Federal runs. The Eagles kept their winning ways shutting out the Braves 3-0. Again strong pitching kept the Eagles alive. Jim New, Chris Warren and Theal showed the strong bats this time as the Eagles had another team win. After trailing 10-2, the Nationals beat the Franklins 19- 10. Strong relief pitching by John Chester stopped the Franklin bats. Heavy hitting by Pete McKeveny (4 for 5, 3 doubles, homer), Pat Gaffey (3 for 4) and Jimmy Gleason (2 for 3, clutch double) keyed the Nationals comeback. A key factor in the game was Jim Siscaretti who went 2 for 2 and had 3 rbi's.
